ABOUT PRODIGY

In January 2010 Critical Hype, in partnership with members of the Youth Advisory Committee of the Fairfield City Council, introduced a dance program to the local youth of the Fairfield City with the aims of providing opportunities for kids to learn and understand the importance of dance as an outlet to expressing themselves without violence, to open doors to alternative lifestyle; away from drugs and alcohol and to build self confidence in order to become the best person they can be. The program is designed to expose and educate the local youth to all different styles of urban dance including; break dance, krump, popping, and hip hop.

To ensure that the quality of the Program is at the highest, the Prodigy employs some of the top dancers in Australia. They are world class dancers and are very well known and respected figures in the dance scene in Australia. The youth will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best and knowledgeable urban dancers.

Some of the dancers who have previously supported the program and taught classes includes 2010 “So You Think You Can Dance” top 20 Don Napalan, popping sensation, Popping Jack, Japanese hip hop dancers, Daisuke and Nao, bboy star Luke Mercado, international member of GStyle, JFunk, along with up and coming krump masters, Shutdown and big Reech, and “So You Think You Can Dance” top 100, Jet Valencia.
