INTERVIEW
How would you describe your dance style? A fun chilled smooth physical interpretation of Music that reflects my personality. I started with B-boying, then branched off into Hip Hop Choreography and Freestyle, which has now become more of a fusion between jazz lyrical and hip hop. I just call it DANCE. Still continuing to train and develop both styles.
What continues to inspire you to dance? The enjoyment of it and knowing there’s always room for improvement. Dance is one of the main reasons who and where I am today. So there’s no way I’ll be leaving it behind any time soon.
As a dancer, what are your goals? To continue training, learning, improving on my skills and developing my style. There are always new things to learn and work on. The limits of dance are endless, so I’ll keep pushing myself to become better and better.
Also would like to become a well known and respected all round dancer in the Australian scene, work more within the Australian and overseas Dance industry. And hopefully tour to pass on knowledge and skills that I’ve acquired from my own experiences.
What would you say to anyone aspiring to be a dancer? Learn your history, terminology and foundations for your style. Knowledge will help you in the right direction. Never hold yourself back. Take every opportunity to dance. The more you dance, the faster you’ll improve with your skills and confidence. DON’T BITE! (steal moves and use as your own). Respect other peoples hard work. Originality and Individuality is what separates you from the rest. Be open minded. Don’t hate on others for doing something different. People will have their own opinions and so will you but in the end it’s all DANCE. And most importantly dance for the enjoyment and love of it. Dance how YOU want to dance. JUST DANCE!
How often do u dance? 5 -6 days a week usually whether it’s teaching, training or jamming. It’s a great way to stay in shape. Come check out my dance class on Mondays D2MG Studio 8pm-9pm – Intermediate JFH Choreography
Any shout outs u wanna give? How about I just shout ‘OUT’ at everyone? “OUT!!!!!!!!!!”
