Sundayz at Pump house has been an exciting event hosted by Hip Hop TV where all forms of art within the Hip Hop culture can come together, showcase their talents and expand their network.

The opportunity brought to you by HHTV is a blessing – started on the 7th December, I have seen some acts I wouldn’t even think about or knew existed yet due to this opportunity I have extended the Funk Ink network enabling the connection to begin.

Since it started we have been able to watch artists such as Urban Prophetz from Up Records – great people to work with and always helping Oz Hip Hop, Hyjak & Torcha – who can be heard with the Bliss n Eso and Hill Top Hoods, my latest favourite after hearing them on Sunday- 3 6 Crew consisting of Aro, Lynx, Lokest and Joker. They just recently formed 3 6 Crew after individually writing their own material until they saw they were on the same level, rapping about the same concerns, issues and repping the same area – thus 3 6 Crew evolved. Since being together they have been able to grow and connect well. So watch out for the 3 6 Crew.

We also have been given the chance to witness live, Los Salvos show the crowd what Latino pride is all about, Da Kumpnee, Funk Ink’s very own F.E.I ft. USO, Poem and Feeling Me.

But wait there’s more- it wasn’t all just about the MCs people. We got to see the sensational popper J Funk who is the first Australian to be recruited into L.A’s G Style crew. He has his own style mixed into what he has learnt but as he was originally self taught he’s stuck with what he likes and is comfortable with expressing. However his passion for dance doesn’t stop there- he also choreographs other performances and has just started dance lessons so remember to get in contact with him- no experience necessary! Other dance crews that boogied on down on the dance floor include Stale Biscuits, the lovely ladies of Soul Crew and my gangsta girls from BP Mafia. Gotta give love to my ladies tearing up that floor to show the boys how they roll!

Well well well  how can I forget the best part about Sundayz- having your worries of the week being swept away, a relaxing vibe to start the week- with a nice cold drink and the smooth non commercial sounds of everybody’s favourite- Funk Ink’s very own Dj Libre. Letting him take you back back , forth and forth with a mix up of new and old, funk and soul!!

I think the highlight however is the fact that throughout the whole night we all are able to come together, discuss and realise that at the end of the day we all in the same game, if we all play together with love respect and peace together we will make it to the top and with that said I mean the top of what Australian Hip Hop can be!

I mean Funk Ink started off because we wanted to get a feel and understanding of the Hip Hop scene that is out now … we wanted to bring everybody together to create the future for a stronger unity, as this is what has been a neglected issue since the Hip Hop movement came to our shores. p>

So people yet again I say support the people that support you, if you come down remember if your there for someone in turn they will be there for you!

This event is and will do great things for the Hip Hop community here in Sydney. Where your going to be smart enough to jump on board the networking train is your decision.  All I see is bigger and better chill out Sundays for our community to grow. Mc’s, Dj’s, dancers and graphers. Together with one beating heart we can make a difference!

Next weeks show will include the talented R2R, my boys from the Kwitz Krew,
Fortay Feat. 2 Furious, UBD. So be sure to come check out the Sundayz@new location Scary Canary.
