STREET DANCER ALPHA JAM
By JV
June 16, 2009

Sydney street dancers unite under one roof for a night of jamming. Leave the choreography, shows, stages and routines behind for a night, get your freestyle skills up as we get together and bring back the era of the jam.

No battles except call outs on the night. All in the ciphers, represent yourself and get down with the rest of us. All chairs will be taken out of the room, no spectators. If you're in the room, you're dancing, out of respect to the people there to jam. This is a participatory event, so all dancers report in to do what you do best.

DJ Libre on the decks, putting some good music and good variety out for the freestylers to dance to, from classic hip hop tracks, funk and breaks to electro and house. Aspiring Emcees, libre's got a library of instrumentals for you to do you job over while the dancers do the cipher thing.

$3 entry for the whole night, all funds will be forwarded to Philcor, a small Australian charity that generates funds for disadvantaged people in underprivileged areas of the Philippines with a focus on health, welfare and education. Money raised from Street Dancer Alpha Jam will go towards providing children in public primary schools a better chance at life through a better education.

Hope to see you on the day, getting down in the ciphers, representing your own damn self and enjoying yourselves.
