GETTING TO KNOW CABRAMATTA'S JUSE CREW
By Jerome Valencia
December 17, 2009

When and how did you guys first form?
Juse Crew: Juse crew was born in mid to late 2000. juse crew members were originally from South west sydney and was made up of 2 crews, Young generation breakers and mellow yellow breakers. Mellow yellow breakers changed their name to Juse meaning Just us Elements, because they focused on all the elements of hip hop not just bboying. The name was decided by former juse crew leaders Baby Juse and Rmys. Baby juse a member of the samoan bloods BNS was the one that taught most of the earlier juse members how to dance. Back then the bloods had their own bboys and were the best dancers we've seenat the time. after helping Juse in a battle Young generation Breakers were recruited and made full members of the crew.

Who are all the official members?

Well we've had a lot of members throughout the years and we are on our third generation of dancers but today's members are: Rat, Patson, Pat, Khaly, Nina, Chong, Hung, Darong C Pat, Kamikaze, Eman, Falkon, Jin, Tri

How do you guys initiate members?

Well we see how they perform on the floor first and if we see potential in them we call 'em out and the
whole crew battles them. If they cam hold their own they are welcome into crew. Another way of becoming a member of our family is to simply chill and hang out with us. If you share the same
views on hip hop with us, your down.

What do you think are the most important aspects to a healthy breaking scene?

A big one is jams, you gotta have jams. That's where we network with each other and share ideas on how to keep this art form alive. If there aren't any jams throw one yourself, in the end you are helping the culture. Another thing is to teach and educate the generation don't let your knowledge go to waste.

What does the Australian breaking scene need less of?

The Australian bboy scene is fine the way it is in my opinion. As long as there's not a some rich guy
ain't making money off us i see nothing wrong with the way things are

In regards to certain Media misconception that revolves around Bboying, what annoys you the most?

I hate how people describe bboys as "untrained" dancers because they don't waste their money on tights and spin around on their toes. When on reality the stuff we do is ten times harder to do. We all train to be different when they all train to look the same. Another thing is we hate seeing these stupid tv shows calling hip hop dancers bboys because they can do an L- kick.

Do you guys think its important to be a part of a crew in Bboying and why?

People might think differently but to us the crew is important. Its not just a crew, its your second family.
Our crew is where we get your inspiration from, its where you draw your energy from when you are on the floor. When you work as a team you can achieve anything.
Your crew's the ones that have your back.

Whats on the agenda for Juse crew in 2010?
Well we will be having our ten year anniversary, keep in touch for the details. But we will be still dancing
and training, we will be looking to take our crews to new levels and looking to expand our minds.
In hip hop you are always learning new things you can never know too much

Advice to Bboys reading this?

Keep doing what you are doing and don't let anybody put you down. Give back to the community and spread your knowledge, do what you gotta do to keep this art form alive.
