BIO

My name is Anastasios (Tass) But i go by the name Kid Taz. I'm 18 years old and I started dancing in 2004 September because of my dad who was an old school bboy in the 80's. My style is BBOY (breakin) But I also dance other styles,I'm also a bboy who lives it rather then does it as a hobby, You have to if you want to be a bboy, thats just how it is.

I am an official member of dance crews-Hybrid Formz, Psalms, Rebelance and Pussy cat ballz. I was also in the top 100 so you think you can dance....top 20 next year! I also like to write MUSIC!!! My fav artists being Maxwell and Atmosphere, Tattoos, SHOES and Play games especially Final Fantasy HUGE FAN! Glad I got that off my chest haha.

INTERVIEW

How would you describe your dance style?

My dance style is a form of bboyin...well because I'm a bboy haha. In saying that my style with bboyin is keepin it original. I like to keep that original bboy style and rawness to what I do. I love to dance in general like at a night club, in my bathroom etc. Always feeling the music which everybody should be doing and I like it all, Footwork, tops, power, tricks, Its all love. I tend to mix a few steps from other dance styles and come back with it with a bboy feel. As for other styles, I guess I'm just getting my basics down at the moment, sometimes adding my own little spice to things just to flavor up things for myself and of course when I getdown and throwdown

What continues to inspire you to dance?

God,The scene! the scene is what inspires me and of course my crews. If every dancer is putting their heart and soul into what they do then how can we go wrong? You got to live it and support every jam! People forget that it's cool to train in front of a mirror your whole life for shows etc but if you aint living the culture of what you do ( cyphers etc) then your really missing out on what is there for you. I find alot of dancers are getting lazy and when we rock to a jam it looks like the scene is dying and We cant have that because our scene compared to Others is SMALL. We need to keep it alive and hype!
So i guess its just everything keeping alive that inspires me, people who smoke me are people I'm going to go after, so I'm going to be inspired to train and if the music is right well I'll do the right thing. Also young kids coming up, have you seen how much passion they put into the dance???!! its amazing!

As a dancer, what are your goals?

My goals are to stay on top or be on top is the right one haha. I guess I want to be the best. I really do and I want to create my own steez, you know that kid taz steez. I want to make money from it, Commercials, top 20 sytycd haha and I'm no sell out, I'm being for real. Why not make a career out of dancing if you can do it, I guess time will tell. But all in all I want the bboy scene to grow as well as popping! I just want to see it explode where everyjam there is over 300 bboys and poppers.

What would you say to anyone aspiring to be a dancer?

Just do it for real. When I started I was 13 and a half and I never looked back and I know ill be dancing until my body says stop and even then I'll break something, Its dancing...whatever. But live it and be strict with yourself, really see what is out there and what inspires you to dance. Dont question yourself if you should do it, ITS DANCING, everyone should do it and dont be afraid to approach people for help and advise etc the scene is cool! besides me dont ask advise from me I'll prob talk about something else and make you feel worse..no I'm kidding...no But seriously do it...haha

How often do u dance and where?

Everyday, as for training atm it is 4 times a week, twice at home and 2 at the training spot. But as for dancing, I'm always dancing, depending on, my mood.

Shout out to the Scene and all the bboys from around Aus and of course Every dancer and my crews. JEROME that special guy, he has done alot for us so big ups to you my man! Oh and people who have been reading my stuff on facebook....I write alot so thanks for "liking" and commenting and stuff. You guys mean alot, more than this scene actually...haha No im kidding guys...PZ!
