While David Win only started experimenting with choreography in late 2006, his passion for dance combined with his love of music, have only helped his style evolve. Driven by his many inspirations from across the globe to across the country, this young dancer from Perth, Western Australia, aims to give his isolated hometown more recognition.
David Win started out dancing with a dance crew made up of friends, UB Kru, and started competing in dance competitions 2005. From then on he became a part of the collaborative crew UB-Jamm, and eventually formed his own and current crew Xc!te. David’s contribution to Xc!te’s choreography and creative concepts won them 1st place at the Perth heat of the International Groove dance competition 2 years in a row, and a top 6 placing in the national division.
The main highlight of his career as a dancer was when he attended a dance workshop during top choreographer Tre Armstrong’s Australian tour, where she personally picked him out of the class of 50 to receive a scholarship to attend the Hollywood Summer Dance Tour in LA, which allowed him to train in some of the world’s best dance studios such as Millenium, Debbie Reynolds and the Edge. In addition to this, David has performed on So You Think You Can Dance U.S and featured in American singer Nikki Fox’s video clip.
David has taught at various workshops and currently teaching regular classes in Perth and is the talent coordinator of the upcoming workshop Urban Alliance presented by Perth Hype, founded and directed by fellow Xc!te choreographer Jasmine Jongko. David Win will use his experiences to further develop his own style, and only hopes to share his passion with others further on from here.

How would you describe your dance style?
I'm not really sure how to describe it...i guess its a fusion of everything..really depends on the music, the mood, whatever inspires me at the time...but its all within the foundations of hip hop!
What continues to inspire you to dance?
Everything and anything!.. Music!
As a dancer, what are your goals?
I want to keep evolving, learn more and try new things..travel the world and meet new friends through doing what i love.
What would you say to anyone aspiring to be a dancer?
If you love it..do it! Don't be afraid to try new things. Learn yourself! Take class!
How often do u dance?
If im not working, eating, sleeping or chillin with babe/friends....im dancing!
