Critical Hype's "360" presented by Steez is set to return on Saturday 24th of September in Sydney, Australia. Steez is Pioneer's new age boombox. The event marks the first time in Australia a major international company partner with an Australian company and jump on board of the growing popularity of street dance.

360 is a freestyle dance battle tournament. Dancers from around the country doing hip hop, funk, and other new styles of street dance, battle each other to become solo and crew champions.

In 2010 we witnessed Instant Bun, finalist of Australia's Got Talent, dethrone former champions Toilet Funk 9, consisting of dancers from SKB and Dilated Nu. We also witnessed Chux Montano take out the title of solo freestyle champion.

360 provides the dream dance floor for all street dancers to dance expressively without the restriction of doing only one style. The DJs will play different tracks such as experimental and instrumental for dancers to dance, adjusting and adapting themselves to the music.

WHAT IS A 360 BATTLE?

A 360 battle is when the DJ play different tracks, funk, hip hop, break beats, experimental, instrumentals etc. and the dancer or dancers freestyle; adjusting and adapting their style to the music.

ABOUT 360

360 is the largest organised dance battle event in Australia (based on ticket sales from Ticketek). It is a tournament of freestylers representing all styles of the hip hop and funk culture, such as breaking, krump, hip hop,  house, popping, locking, waving etc, going head to head in a battle formatted tournament. 360 UNITED does NOT compare or determine which style is better, rather it encourages and promotes freestyle dance. The event features two divisions; the crew vs. crew battles and the solo battles.

The panel of judges, each with great reputation and experience in the hip hop and funk dance community in Australia and overseas, determines the winners. The freestylers are judged on techniques, musicality, versatility, character, foundation, originality, how good it looks and how entertaining they are. Each event will be bringing in some of the best established and some of the best up and coming freestylers to impress the judges, outshine the other crews and to entertain the crowd. Each winning division is rewarded with some fantastic prizes such as; cash prizes, media packages, sponsor gears, and the most prestige prize of them all, the 360 Championship Trophy.
